TERROR OF HISTORY RELEASES “GOD’S SILENCE”
Posted February 29, 2016

“Where ‘Take Me Back’ was moody and downtempo, ‘God’s Silence’ takes a dreamier approach to proceedings, with clear, sweet harmonies leading the song. The pace is still pretty laidback, but here it feels more like a gentle stroll than a sulk in the corner. It’s not without a tinge of melancholy, but the amount of bittersweetness is just right, and reflected beautifully in their video. As surreal, nostalgic images play out, the surreality of their expressions juxtaposes against each other – joy, sadness, confusion and everything besides.”

TERROR OF HISTORY
Posted September 25, 2015

terror.of.history

It feels like the enigmatic swedish duo Terror of History moves in a soundscape both demanding and welcoming. Noisy, creaking and shimmering in a monotonuos but yet melodic sphere. Not seldomly their analogue warmth echoes out in a icy feedback and exactly there, when the music is in its most lightweight and meditative state, it transforms into something alarming and offensive.

The duo consists of Hannes Stenström and Niklas Berglöf and seems to have musical soulmates in a wide span of artists such as Damon Albarn and Mika Vainio, and one could suggest that they shamelessy borrows tones and moods from Angelo Badalamenti and No Age. Still, they’re probably just being themselves, bravely wandering through genres, time and space before they land on a solid platform made out of love, faith and introspection.

NO SCIENCE – “LUCKY RESIDENT” ALBUM
Posted March 17, 2015

no.science.lucky.resident.digi.cover

Swedish fans of indierock might know Jukka Rintamäki and Johan Skugge for being in two of the most influential swedish indie bands during the 90’s; Silverbullit respectively Yvonne, but for the international audience it is probably the soundtracks for the computer games Battlefield 3 and 4 that has put them on the map of contemporary electronic music. This also mark their wide sonic spectra as artists; from guitardriven indierock to eclectic instrumental soundscapes. No Science is definitely the melting pot and the result of the duo’s vast experience of creating music from such diverse platforms and their debut album under the none scientific moniker is no exception. “Lucky Resident” is a journey to the most creative side of Rintamäki and Skugge’s common artistic platform, probing the boundaries of future music. The album finishes off with “Familiar Skies”, an epic track and duet between Jukka Rintamäki and fellow swedish artist El Perro del Mar, which beautifully end a timeless album.

I get this feeling that this YOKER figure is a Gummo-like persona lacking a whole lot of social abilities. But it’s also on the other hand a genius mixture of the dark side of a social misfit and that persons need to deal with it through sounds and words.

OPEN ENDS VIDEO BY SUPRA!
Posted December 6, 2013

The video for ‘Open Ends’ by Supra! just premiered by Filter Magazine.

The song is an intoxicating mix of layered synths and processed vocals, combined with the trippy video of a lemur having a really rad time traipsing around the jungle.

WORDS ON DYSTOPICO
Posted July 7, 2013

[Kriget] make music that both challenges and energises, bouncing between shades of Deutsche-electropunk, deeply stirring jazz and proggy techno.
The Line of Best Fit

[Kriget] capture new and old, beauty and terror, control and chaos, a psychedelic volcano of energy.
Consequence of Sound

They’re far removed from the occult, but waves of shrill intensity will wash over you while listening.
Earbuddy

The question an LP like this seems to answer is how musicians can both subliminally move an audience and still satisfy an expressionist impulse.
Impose Magazine

Kriget accomodates a raw, scortching sound from an almost-scizophrenic viewpoint, while several tracks (“Say No More”, “Dystopico”, “Sleeping With Buddha”) twist into organic, hi-hat driven techno — perhaps the most obvious reference throughout Dystopico’s 43-minute long spin.
